It's been awhile...

I've been mentally telling myself that I must update my blog for weeks now, but the days keep slipping past and still not blog post… I'm finally here, and have finally uploaded some photos to my computer to be able to share with you!

So where have I been? As I mentioned in my last post, I was interstate (Canberra specifically) for a couple of weeks back in April visiting friends, and when I returned home I launched myself straight into full-time work after being offered a position while I was away. It's been tiring getting back into the swing of full-time work while also juggling two little ones… And weekends seem to just fly past! I went back to Canberra for a weekend at the end of May for the wedding of a close friend, and the kids and I have enjoyed having visitors come and stay at our place over the last few weeks. Busy times, but also happy times… although limited stitching in between!

Last time I posted I promised some photos… Here are some better pics of the quilt I made for Alex for his 3rd birthday…

I love the backing fabric… the funny thing is, so does Alex and he often insists having it backing side up so he can see the cars!! The backing also shows my free-motion loop-the-loop quilting…. my first effort at this, and I'm fairly happy with the result :)

The other project I mentioned last time was a sample I stitched for Rosalie Quinlan. I stitched one of the blocks from her latest quilt "Simply Blessed"…

The sample was stitched in her "French" colour-wave version of the quilt, and I fell in love with both the design and the variegated thread supplied:

Such a pleasure stitching this block, and I was lucky enough to then receive the full pattern set for this quilt… can't wait to have some time (and energy!) to start this project.

I've managed to do a little stitching over the past couple of months, albeit very little… I've mainly done a few stitches here and there towards Alex's "A Boys Story" quilt, but I also made a bunting for my friend's wedding. Unfortunately I didn't get very many good pics of it, but here's a taste for what it looked like:

It had their names with a heart on either end, lined with coordinating fabrics to the letters and then topped with lace trim. It ended up being hung behind the bridal table.

Long post after a long absence it seems! I'll try not to leave it so long until I post again… It's Sofia's 1st birthday coming up in August and I'd love to complete a couple of small projects for that, but we'll see what time allows for!

Until next time xx
